In a relatively short period of time, voters all across this country are going to the polls in what could very well be the most historic midterm elections ever to be held. Nothing less than the future of America will be at stake.
I’m not going to get on my soap box and tell anyone what direction I believe is the right way to go. That’s not my reason for this blog. No, what is important is that I would like to see the voting public become as informed as possible prior to making a decision this fall. Even more critical will be my hope they will not necessarily vote along party lines as so many have done in the past (me included). This time, I would plead that everyone make a concerted effort to understand what the politicians actually stand for. Especially those who will be directly representing them in Congress. If you think your candidate is right on the money, then by all means vote for him or her. If, on the other hand, you have doubts, then vote their asses out of office even if it means crossing party lines to make that happen.
Just one other word. I really believe that many of the media outlets have now become compromised and in so doing no longer report the news so much as attempt to influence public opinion in directions they think the public should go. In other words, some of these very large news organizations have abandoned the principles of an unbiased press for the much more lucrative path of becoming mass propaganda machines. They are, in my opinion, just one step away from dropping all pretense of truth in an effort to sway the voting public opinion. But, hey, that’s just me.
