Deciding even on what party to vote for, is a little like picking a used car lot, to go a purchase a car. You want to choose the place where you’ll feel that you’re the least likely to get screwed. (Remembering, of course, that you will get screwed to some extent no matter where you end up).
With that cravat in mind, I am electing to go the Republican ticket, once again. But, this year, it will be with a much more skeptical eye. I’ve come to the (perhaps) jaded belief that most career politicians are crooked to some degree. (Remember the saying on how power corrupts)? Some just manage to fair better than others, depending on how practiced they are at the art of social political deception.
Now with that in mind, I also am choosing NOT to vote for any candidate that is running unopposed. Really? The machine couldn’t manage to dig up another person out of hundreds of thousands to fill a paid job? I find that concept beyond the pale. At any rate, that person is already a shoo in, so why bother to waste the ink.
Of the candidates I do plan to vote for, each will receive at least a modicum of research by me. (My days of voting for someone because they had a cute looking name are so over)… My advice to anyone who actually even takes the trouble to go vote, is to be sure of the individual you are putting your trust into. If you don’t know all the individuals running for a particular office, then please just skip that section. No vote at all is much better in that case. My opinion.
So, having said all that here are the offices and the candidates I intend to give a thumbs up to, in the Taney County run for the roses…
Oops, I apparently missed a couple of key departments……
Well, that pretty much covers it. Please excuse any spelling errors (just work around them) and do remember to get out and vote!
