As I have been told by many, that I’m a bit odd, I’ve decided to take that in a positive manner. Being odd is often synonymous with being unique! Ergo, I am oddly unique!
Beginning on Christmas Day, 2020, I decided to go on a seven Day DanO Diet effort! What exactly did that even mean? It means I wanted to take the week between Christmas and New Years to make my diet more real and even more effective. In order to realize that, it meant that I had to do some serious planning beginning on Christmas Day! Wish me luck as I’m sure I’ll need it!
December 25 – Day 1
Cold weather had definitely arrived at my location, in Forsyth, a small town situated in southwest Missouri. This was to be the first day of a seven day attempt for me to try and hit two important marks; diet and exercise! My electronic scale had informed me that I weighed 179 pounds exactly. I needed to try and shave off at least a pound over the coming seven days! Challenges await!
Eight AM saw me arise from bed, with a bit of trepidation in the pit of my stomach. Seven days seemed like a very long time and I wasn’t certain of the end results. No matter, I got up and prepared to face the day. Outside the thermometer read a brisk 19°, so indoor exercises looked to be the proper thing to do. Those were to consist of some stationary biking, walking around the house and doing some light workouts with weights. Meh.
Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day. (For me, every meal is very important. All the more so, when I realized that there was going to be less quantities of the kinds of foods I normally crave)! And, that type of scenario was going to be in effect for the next seven days!
Today, my first meal of the day, was two chicken wings (leftovers from a takeout the night before), a fried egg and a glass of whole milk. Be still my raging stomach.. No food for you until the afternoon.
Lunch consisted of two celery sticks with peanut butter. A personal favorite.
That got me to the early afternoon and a chance to enjoy a Christmas Day Special that was being offered at a local pub. It consisted of a ham steak, masked potatoes with gravy and a vegetable. I was going to order it as a takeout to eat at home, but changed my mind and ate only a cupcake someone offered me! It hurts to be me on a diet!
So, I’d survived to the afternoon, and I had gotten in some light exercise and was looking forward to a few brewski’s and some potato chips, as my in my favorite form of afternoon food intake. Now, that’s more like it!
Just remember that when dieting, you need to eat reasonable amounts of food, exercise as much as you can and enjoy life! Above is a summery of this day where it was evident that I didn’t do as well as planned. My only saving grace was the 2.4 miles I managed to walk!
