Restaurants in a small town!

In my town of Forsyth Missouri, I like to try and keep track of the eleven eateries that exist in a town with a population that is under 2,600. I feel that of all the businesses that have been impacted by the Covid virus, Restaurants have been the hardest hit. Therefore, they act as barometers indicating the health of a town like mine. Below, I’ve included; their names, type and status as of this post.

Name – Type – Status – Comments

McDonald’s Fast food – Open – Drive thru only, Renovated

Sonics – Fast food – Open.

Hong Kong Express – Asian – Open.

Mt. William Pizza Pizza – Open Also serves spaghetti meals!

Oaxaca – Mexican – Open.

Frosted Mug – Bar/Grill – Open.

Family Dining – Western – Closed.

Fat Daddy’s BBQ – Open – Excellent online menu.

Charlie’s Steak – Closed – Closed for 4 years!

Main Street Cafe – Unknown – Open

As an honorable mention. The Yummy Donuts, while not a true restaurant, does serve delicious coffee and pastries!

I plan to repeat this effort in a few months to see how many would be still open.

I rec’d my degree from SIU majoring in Biology many moons ago and still maintain a great interest in the study of all living things. My hobbies include meteorology, the Finnish language and inhabiting cyberspace whenever possible.
