‘The Military forces do stand with the citizens of the Republic and will react against subversive acts!’
The above was a quote I posted on another site. And yes, I do believe that our military would resist any act of blatant subversion – def: the undermining of the power and authority of an established system or institution. My country is a Constitutional Republic that is run by duly elected officials who are charged with doing the bidding of the citizens living in states they represent. That’s it! They all sit in Congress to preserve and to protect a Republic that’s been in place for 244 years. And, it’s worked pretty damn good for most of that time!
Now, please consider what the word ‘treason‘ is all about. Treason is a unique offense in our constitutional order – the only crime expressly defined by the Constitution, and applying only to Americans who have betrayed the allegiance they are presumed to owe the United States. So, what is the act of betrayal; def – the action of betraying one’s country, a group, or a person; treachery. Also, betrayal is performed via the art of deception, as in, when a person is tricked, they often feel betrayed by the person who tricked them. Today, I feel a bit betrayed by my government. Specifically, I feel betrayed by some members of our government who have it in their heads that major changes in the Constitution and or the Bill of Right need to be altered or even erased. I find such conduct hurtful, to the citizens of the US, and I find it most prevalent in the Democratic Party. And, yes, I’m happy to have the military declare its allegiance to the Republic and not to any socialistic elitist designs!

Subversion. Is it catching on?
