Winter storm to impact southern Mo!

Local – Southwest Mo. – Area residents will have a chance to experience so of the types of weather our friends to the east have been enduring the past few days.

Things will start off Tuesday afternoon as rain develops of the area. While it will be cooling, as the evening wears of, it will still be above the freezing point so expect rain. Current estimates are between 0.8 inches to about 1.0 inch.

That will change Wednesday as temps fall, bringing a wintry mix for much of the day. Predictions remain muddled – ‘but along and south of the I-44 expect freezing sleet/rain the change over the snow by Wednesday night and on into Thursday.’ Expect 4-6″ of snow for this event.

Then, Thursday – Friday expect the temperatures to drop with lows in the teens. I have placed a call into Liberty Utilities and will post and preparations by them.

As of Monday morning I had received no word from Liberty.

Happy motoring…
