Another day in the life!

I awoke at approximately 7:00 AM on a rainy overcast 25th day in November 2023. This particular day, I had an 11AM appointment with a health care worker to get my flu shot. I did my best to touch up my appearance and headed out a bit early to first take care of chores.

First on my short list was trash detail. I dutifully lugged a full bag out to the dumpster, just in time to endure a brief downpour. Suitably damp now, I climbed into my car for a jaunt to my bank’s ATM. Which I discovered was not working. Hmm. Not an auspicious start to my day. Shrugging that off, I headed down Hwy 160 to the Forsyth Health Center for my appointment with a needle.

I arrived a few minutes early and was greeting by a sign that read ‘We are Open’. Huh. I didn’t know they were closed. Upon entering I had a feeling of strangeness, the place appeared to be deserted. No one in the reception area and no one waiting for service. Double hmm. After five minutes or so a lady appeared and signed me in and I sat down to wait. Five minutes later a ‘nurse’ appeared and ushered my into her office. I got my shot and left. During the fifteen or so minutes I was there, no customers arrived. I got in my car and went home…. Well at least there were no crowds.
